Track every deal in a project as its own opportunity in ServiceTitan CRM

What's changing

Until now, a project holding more than one opportunity appeared in the ServiceTitan customer relationship management (CRM) pipeline as a single combined record, so a project with a $50,000 heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) opportunity and a $20,000 plumbing opportunity showed up as one $70,000 record, and selling the plumbing work moved the whole record to Closed - Won while the HVAC work was still open. Now each opportunity in the project gets its own record, and pipeline value, estimated labor hours, and stage reflect only that one opportunity, so closing or losing one leaves the others exactly where they were. When you add an estimate from inside a project, the project module asks whether to add it to an existing opportunity or to a new one, and ServiceTitan now respects that choice. A new Related Project Opportunities section in the opportunity drawer lists the other opportunities on the same project with their stage and value, so you can move between them. The project stays in place as a grouping label, the Job and Service Agreement pipelines are unchanged, and nothing about your existing projects changes.

1.Open a project that holds a $50,000 heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) opportunity and a $20,000 plumbing opportunity.
2.Go to the ServiceTitan customer relationship management (CRM) pipeline and find one combined $70,000 record for the whole project.
2.Go to the ServiceTitan customer relationship management (CRM) pipeline and find two records, one for $50,000 and one for $20,000.
3.Sell the plumbing estimate, and watch the full $70,000 record move to Closed - Won even though the HVAC work is still open.
3.Open either record and review the Related Project Opportunities section to see the other opportunity on that project, with its stage and value.
4.Export the pipeline and match records by hand to work out what is really still open.
4.Sell the plumbing estimate, and see only the $20,000 record move to Closed - Won while the HVAC record stays open in its own stage.
5.Report on win and loss, sales cycle, and weighted forecast straight from the pipeline with no manual matching.
⚠ Pipeline value, sales cycle, and weighted forecast all report at the project level, so win and loss numbers for your commercial work are wrong and your sales managers cannot trust the forecast.
✓ Every opportunity in a project stands on its own, so your sales managers forecast and report at the level they actually sell at, and closing one piece of work no longer distorts the rest.

How it works for your industry

Commercial Construction
  • A mechanical contractor runs a school retrofit as one project holding a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) replacement and a plumbing scope. Each one now sits in the pipeline as its own record, so the HVAC seller and the plumbing seller each forecast their own work.
  • A sales manager reviewing the quarter sees a project where the electrical scope closed and the mechanical scope is still in Propose, instead of one record that reads as fully won.
  • A project executive adds a second opportunity to an existing project for an added scope of work, and the new opportunity enters the pipeline at its own stage with its own value rather than inflating the original record.

How to prepare

01
Have an administrator reach out to Support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to have ServiceTitan customer relationship management (CRM) with the Projects pipeline and any prerequisite configurations enabled. ServiceTitan CRM is currently in Early Access and available to select accounts.
02
Confirm your team understands that projects created before this release keep their combined record. Only projects that do not yet have a ServiceTitan CRM opportunity get separate records, and nothing is changed retroactively.
03
Tell your sellers that opportunities on the same project still share the name Opportunity for Project: [project name], and point them to the Related Project Opportunities section in the opportunity drawer to tell them apart and move between them.
04
Review any saved pipeline views, reports, or forecasts that counted one record per project, because a multi-opportunity project now returns more than one row.
05
Align your team on where estimates get added. After a project is linked to an opportunity, Add Estimate on that opportunity is turned off and a message points to the project, because new estimates must be added from the project screen. Estimates added to the project still appear on the opportunity.
