Track equipment age with the Manufactured On date field

Prev Next

This improvement adds a dedicated Manufactured On date field to installed equipment records so you can view, enter, and report on equipment age even when an Installed On date is not available.

What's changing?

Previously, equipment age in ServiceTitan relied entirely on the Installed On date. When that date was missing, which is common for pre-existing or imported equipment records, there was no way to assess how old a piece of equipment was. Now, a new Manufactured On date field is available on installed equipment records. Teams can view and edit this date from the equipment drawer on the equipment landing page and location screen, from the equipment table column picker, and through bulk import, and reports. When an Installed On date is absent, the Manufactured On date provides a reliable fallback for understanding equipment age and supports warranty and replacement decisions.

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. The equipment record shows an Installed On date field but the field is blank because the record was imported or pre-existed without that data.

  2. There is no other date available to estimate the equipment's age.

  3. The team must contact the customer or check external documentation to determine when the equipment was manufactured.

Impact: Teams cannot assess equipment age from within ServiceTitan when the Installed On date is missing, which slows down warranty checks and replacement conversations.

After

  1. The equipment record now shows a Manufactured On date field with the Installed On date.

  2. The team enters or reviews the manufacturing date directly in the equipment drawer.

  3. The Manufactured On date is also available in the equipment table column picker and in reports.

Impact: Teams can assess equipment age from within ServiceTitan even when no Installed On date is recorded, making it faster to identify warranty status and recommend replacements.

Who uses this feature

  • All business types

  • Administrators, Managers, Dispatchers

  • Region availability: All regions.

How it works for your industry

Residential Service and Replacement

  • A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician arrives at a home to evaluate a system that was installed by a previous contractor. The Installed On date is blank, but the technician enters the Manufactured On date found on the equipment label. The office team can now see the manufacturing date in the equipment record and use it to advise the homeowner on warranty coverage.

  • An office manager runs an equipment report filtered by Manufactured On date range. The report helps identify units manufactured more than 15 years ago that are candidates for replacement proposals.

  • A CSR imports a batch of equipment records from a legacy system using the updated import template, which now includes a Manufactured On column. All imported records are immediately visible with manufacturing dates in the equipment table.

Commercial Service and Replacement

  • A dispatcher reviewing a commercial account's equipment table adds Manufactured On as a visible column. The team can now sort and filter equipment by manufacturing date to prioritize aging units for service agreements.

  • A technician on a rooftop unit (RTU) maintenance visit enters the Manufactured On date from the unit nameplate directly in the equipment drawer on the job screen. This date becomes part of the equipment record immediately.

  • A manager uses the Manufactured On field in the equipment reporting dataset to build a custom report showing all commercial equipment manufactured before a specific year, supporting fleet-wide age analysis.

Residential Construction

  • A project team importing a large inventory of equipment records from a construction handoff uses the updated import template to populate Manufactured On dates in bulk. Equipment records are complete and searchable from day one.

  • A technician completing a post-installation walkthrough verifies and enters the Manufactured On date for each installed unit. The office team can see those dates in equipment drawers and reports without additional follow-up.

Commercial Construction

  • A project manager reviews newly created equipment records for a large commercial build. Using the Manufactured On column in the equipment table, the team quickly confirms all units have manufacturing dates recorded before handing off to the service team.

  • During a warranty dispute, an office administrator looks up the Manufactured On date on a specific equipment record. The date is stored directly in ServiceTitan and does not require contacting the original installer or reviewing paper records.

  • A manager exports equipment data including Manufactured On dates using the updated export template, providing the data needed for a vendor audit.

How to Prepare

  1. Confirm that the Equipment Page Redesign prerequisite configuration is enabled for your account. If it is not, have an administrator reach out to Support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to have the prerequisite configurations enabled.
