Mandatory Workflow Change

This change will automatically apply to all customers with this release. Review the new workflow and update your team training materials before the release date.

This new feature in the Non-Job Event (NJE) panel lets you edit, complete, or delete events for one technician at a time and adds clearer history in the Audit Trail.

Editing a recurring event with selected technicians and event options displayed.

What's new?

You can edit, complete, or delete an NJE for a single technician without changing it for others. This gives you more control over training, paid time off, and other schedule blocks. The Audit Trail also shows linked NJEs, so you can track what changed and who made the change.

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Dispatch.

  2. On the Daily or Weekly Dispatch Board, click the non-job event with multiple technicians you want to update.

  3. Try to edit or delete the event for only one technician.

  4. See that changes apply to all technicians in the series.

  5. Review the Audit Trail and find limited detail about linked NJEs.

Impact: You risk changing schedules for technicians who should not be affected. It is harder to track what happened.

After

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Dispatch.

  2. On the Daily or Weekly Dispatch Board, click the non-job event with multiple technicians you want to update. The Edit or Delete recurring event pop-up opens.

  3. From the Technician dropdown, select a specific technician to apply the updated recurring event to. Edit, complete, or delete the NJE for that technician only.

  4. Review the Audit Trail to see linked NJEs and detailed history.

Impact: You control schedule changes at the technician level and get clearer traceability in the Audit Trail.

How it works for your industry

Residential Service and Replacement

  • A dispatcher adjusts a training Non-Job Event (NJE) for one technician who is out sick. The other technicians in the same training series keep their original schedule.

  • A paid time off NJE is removed for one technician who swapped shifts. Other assigned technicians are not affected.

  • The Audit Trail shows each NJE change, so you can confirm who edited or deleted the event.

Commercial Service and Replacement

  • A dispatcher updates a safety meeting NJE for one technician assigned to a large site. The rest of the team keeps the event.

  • One technician completes a certification early. You mark the NJE complete for that technician only.

  • The Audit Trail links related NJEs, so you can review all changes tied to that event.

Residential Construction

  • A project training NJE is adjusted for one technician who moves to another job. The rest of the crew keeps the original event.

  • You delete a scheduling block for one technician without removing it from the full series.

  • The Audit Trail shows the full change history for better record keeping.

Commercial Construction

  • On a multi-phase project, you edit a meeting NJE for one technician reassigned to another phase. Other technicians stay scheduled.

  • You complete a compliance NJE for a single technician who finished early.

  • The Audit Trail displays linked NJEs so you can trace schedule decisions across the project.

How to Prepare?

  1. Confirm dispatchers understand how Non-Job Events (NJE) work today.

  2. Train dispatchers on editing and deleting NJEs at the technician level.

  3. Review your process for tracking training and paid time off to align with the new control.

  4. Confirm role permissions allow dispatchers to manage NJEs in ServiceTitan.
