What's new

Before this improvement, notifications for chats, @mentions, thread replies, and emails were controlled by defaults, with no way for an individual to turn specific activity types on or off or pick where they arrive. Now there is a Notifications settings screen where each person chooses which activity types they want to be notified about and which channels deliver them. Office members manage their office preferences, and field members manage their mobile preferences.

Workflow comparison — before & after

← Before
✓ After
1.Go to ServiceTitan and open your message center.
1.Open Settings and go to Communications > My Notifications.
2.Receive notifications for chats, @mentions, thread replies, and emails based on default settings.
2.Select Notifications.
3.Look for a way to turn off the activity types you do not need.
3.Turn each activity type on or off for the notifications you want.
4.Find that delivery channels cannot be changed per activity type.
4.Choose the delivery channel for each activity type.
⚠ Notifications arrive that you cannot tune, which adds noise and makes the important ones harder to spot.
✓ You receive the notifications that matter to you on the channels you prefer, which cuts noise and helps you respond faster.

How it works for your industry

Residential Service and Replacement
  • A service manager who only needs @mentions turns off thread-reply notifications, so the message center highlights the messages that need a direct response.
  • A dispatcher keeps email notifications for @mentions and turns off email for general chats, so the inbox stays focused on items that need action.
Commercial Service and Replacement
  • An account manager handling several maintenance agreements keeps @mention notifications on across the message center and email, so client questions are not missed.
  • A dispatcher turns off thread-reply notifications for high-traffic job threads, which lowers noise while keeping @mentions visible.
Residential Construction
  • A project coordinator keeps email notifications for @mentions tied to active builds, so approvals and questions surface quickly.
  • A selections specialist turns off general chat notifications and keeps thread replies on, so updates on a specific thread stay visible.
Commercial Construction
  • A project manager overseeing several job sites keeps @mention notifications on across email and the message center, so requests for information are not lost.
  • A superintendent turns off thread-reply notifications for routine threads and keeps @mentions on, which cuts noise on a busy project.
Roofing and Exteriors
  • A production manager who only needs @mentions turns off thread-reply notifications, so the message center stops filling with crew back-and-forth.
  • An office coordinator keeps email notifications for @mentions but turns off email for general chats, so the inbox stays focused on items that need a reply.
