Add a custom unsubscribe URL to Marketing Pro emails: recommended workflowLast updated on 05/12/2023

This article helps you understand how to add a custom unsubscribe URL to Marketing Pro email templates.

Things to know

  • If you don’t add a custom unsubscribe link to an email template, the system automatically includes a generic Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

  • The unsubscribe links in delivered Marketing Pro emails are custom to each email address and should not be reused in the email templates.

  • If the email template should have a custom unsubscribe link, only the Unsubscribe merge tag should be used to generate an unsubscribe link for each recipient.

Workflows

Create a custom unsubscribe link

Use the unsubscribe merge tag to create custom unsubscribe links in Marketing Pro email templates.

To do that:

  1. In ServiceTitan, go to the navigation bar and click Marketing.

  2. Find the email template where the unsubscribe link will be added.

If the email template is already in a Campaign draft:

  3. Select Campaigns.

  4. Select the desired campaign.

  5. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit.

The Review and Submit page opens.

  6. In the Email Sequence section, click Edit.

  7. Hover over the email template you want to edit, click Edit.

If the email template isn’t in a Campaign:

  1. In ServiceTitan, go to the navigation bar and click Marketing.

  2. Select Email Templates.

  3. Find the template, and click Edit.

The Configure Email Content page opens. If the template doesn't have an unsubscribe link section:

  4. Click Content.

  5. Drag Text to the bottom of the email template.

  6. Delete the prefilled text.

  7. Enter the custom unsubscribe text you want.

  8. Highlight the words that should contain the unsubscribe link.

If the template already has an unsubscribe link section:

  1. Click the box that contains the unsubscribe link.

  2. Customize the unsubscribe text as you want.

  3. Highlight the words that contain the unsubscribe link.

  4. From the Special links dropdown, select Frequently Used > Unsubscribe Link.

Note: Only the Unsubscribe merge tag should be used in the email template. Do not reuse any existing unsubscribe links.

  5. When you’re done, click Save. To send a test and preview the unsubscribe link:

  6. From the Actions dropdown, select Send Test.
