Display User getting Access Denied error and can't access Yext from ServiceTitan's Reputation ManagementLast updated on 04/06/2022

This article will provide troubleshooting steps to help Display Users access Yext from ServiceTitan.


Problem

Companies using ServiceTitan’s Reputation Management may have employees with Display User ServiceTitan accounts that need to access Yext through ServiceTitan. However, Display Users are required to access ServiceTitan via the Partner Portal, which isn’t compatible with Yext.


Solution

Companies using Reputation Management might have employees with Display User ServiceTitan accounts that need to access Yext (the integration partner used through ServiceTitan. However, Display Users are required to log in to ServiceTitan via the Partner Portal, which isn’t compatible with Yext. In order for a user to access Yext through ServiceTitan, they will need to log in to ServiceTitan with a non-Display User office profile.

Follow the workflows below to resolve the issue:


Create Non-Display User ServiceTitan Office Profile

A ServiceTitan Admin User can follow the below steps to create a non-Display User office profile for the employee to log into ServiceTitan and access Yext.

  1. As an ST Admin user, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to access ServiceTitan Settings, and then click on People > Employees.

  2. Click on Add.

  3. On the Add Employee page, enter in the user’s information and make sure the Role is NOT Display User. Set up the Payroll and Permissions tabs as desired. Note: On the Permissions tab, the Can access ServiceTitan Marketing Pro module permission is required to access the Reputation Management module (and Yext).

  4. For the ServiceTitan Access section, you can either create a username and password for the user on the spot, or you can send them an invitation via email so the user can set up their username and password on their own time.

    Note: The new username will need to be unique and cannot be the same as the one the employee logged into their previous Display User account with.

  5. Click Save Changes at the bottom to create the new user profile.

  6. Move on to the next section for steps on how the user can access Yext from their new ServiceTitan profile.


Access Yext from ServiceTitan

Once a non-Display User ServiceTitan office profile is created, the employee can log into that new profile in order to access Yext.

  1. Log into https://go.servicetitan.com/ using the employee profile created in the previous Create Non-Display User ServiceTitan Employee Profile section. 

  2. Once in ServiceTitan, click on Marketing from the top menu in order to access the Reputation module.

  3. Click on Listings from the left menu in order to open Yext in a new tab.
