Extensions make it quick and easy to call coworkers within your company by punching in a short number, rather than having to dial their complete phone number. Dialpad supports Extensions and with this guide, you’ll find that adding an Extension is easy!


Problem

You want to implement Extensions within your Dialpad to make intercompany dialing easier, but you can’t find out where Extensions can be set up within Dialpad.


Solution

Adding an extension to a user in Dialpad

Add intro when one workflow (or use summary when many workflows) to introduce the solution in instructional form:

  1. From Dialpad, click into Admin Settings, then click into Users

  2. On the Users page, locate the user you wish to add the extension to. Click on Options to the right of this person's name, then click into the Calling section, before finally clicking Add extension.

  3. An Edit Extension box will appear, where you will be prompted to enter an extension number, with a limit of 5 digits. Enter in your preferred extension, then hit Save.
