Idle Time Settings Are Not Producing Expected Result With Simple Clock In/OutLast updated on 09/22/2022
This article helps you understand why Simple Clock In and Out overrides idle time settings.
The problem is that the report shows that the technician is being paid for the idle time but the idle time settings are set not to pay any idle time over 60 minutes for the day.
When users have both simple clock in/out and idle time settings on at the same time, they encounter problems. For example, they may have set the Pay up to 60 minutes on in the Idle Time section and simple clock in/out enabled, but get confused about why technicians are still getting paid for idle time beyond 60 minutes when they forget to clock out at the end of the day.
To solve the issue, select one of the options:
Disable Simple Clock I/O
If technicians should not be paid for idle time over a certain threshold consider disabling Simple Clock I/O. It is important to understand all of the implications of this change to Standard Clock I/O before disabling it. In addition to the idle time settings, drive time settings at the individual technician level will also now be activated. It is also important to note that with Standard Clock I/O, idle time to start the day before any paid event will NOT be paid (which is not the case with Simple).
To disable Simple Clock I/O:
In ServiceTitan, go to Settings > People > Payroll Settings > Timesheet Codes.
Click Edit to edit the ClockIO timesheet code.
Deselect Enable Simple Clock I/O.
Check if the idle time is set properly
To set the idle time threshold:
In ServiceTitan, go to Settings > People > Payroll > Idle Time.
Click to edit the idle time.
Check the payment time in minutes.
If you want to pay for all the idle time, select it.
