This article helps you troubleshoot the quickbooks web connector error: Failed to connect QuickBooks: Error from QuickBooks: Could not connect to Quickbooks. Make sure that QuickBooks is open and running under the same Windows user as the Web Connector.

Problem

The problem is that the user receives a Quickbooks error message and is unable to export.

Solution

To resolve the issue, first make sure that both QuickBooks and the ServiceTitan Web Connector is ran as Admin. Then, if the error persists, check to see if the customer account has an antivirus installed and if it is blocking the ServiceTitan Web Connector. For more information, see the Run QuickBooks and the ServiceTitan Web Connecter as Admin workflow.

Run QuickBooks and the ServiceTitan Web Connector as Admin

Make sure that both QuickBooks and the ServiceTitan Web Connector is run as Admin.

To run as admin:

  1. Right click QuickBooks/ServiceTitan Web Connector.

  2. Select Run as Admin.

Also, check whether or not the ServiceTitan account has installed an antivirus and if it is blocking the ServiceTitan Web Connector:

  • For PC users, see How do I know if I already have antivirus software?

  • For Mac users: your device won’t have antivirus unless you install it, so you will need to know the name of your antivirus in order to search. Note: Click on the magnifying glass at the top right of your menu bar and search for common antivirus software: CleanMyMac, BitDefender, Eset Security, etc.
