Explanation of technician permissions in ServiceTitanLast updated on 09/14/2022

The following permissions are listed in the order they are displayed in ServiceTitan. If you’re looking for a specific permission, use the Search field located above the list of permissions.

Permissions are separated into the different workflows they impact. If you are unsure what a permission does if turned on, you can hover over the permission name to see a short description. Depending on your account configurations, you may not have access to all the workflows and permissions listed below.


Accounting Permissions

Invoices

Allows the technician to edit service prices on estimates and invoices

Allows the technician to calculate the price on an estimate or invoice that is using a Rule

Allows the technician to view the costs of materials that have been added to an invoice

Pricebook Permissions

Purchase Orders & Shipments

Note: If the Allow technicians to consume items not on their truck permission is disabled, only inventory SKUs that are on the truck template or on the truck location can be added.

Allows the technician to leave notes on the customer, location, or job record for easy sharing of information with the office and other technicians

View history tab

Allows the technician to access previous jobs they have worked. They cannot dispatch/arrive to these jobs, but can take basic actions like add photos or leave notes. You can control the date range they have access to for the history.

Enable phone capture

Phone capture allows technicians to use their mobile phone to upload photos and videos directly to ServiceTitan. Great for technicians that work in attics, crawl spaces, chimneys, etc.

Upload photos and videos

Allows the technician to upload existing photos and videos from their mobile phones. Note: Even with this permission disabled, technicians will still be able to take new photos and videos and post to the job

Enable visit assistant

Allows the technician to use the contactless e-sign feature for collecting signatures on estimates, invoices, and forms

Access Pricebook in mobile

Allows the technician access to Pricebook

Off

Assign “Sold by” on the job when performing the work now

Allows the technician to get automatically assigned to the “Sold By” field on the job when they sell an estimate and select “Perform Work Now”

Set notes on customer location or job

Allows the technician to leave notes on the customer, location, or job record for easy sharing of information with the office and other technicians
