Sync tax exempt status on customer and location recordsLast updated on 03/29/2023

The tax exempt status set on a customer record automatically populates on all location records attached to that customer. This enhances the accuracy of your location records and reduces accounting errors.

Set a customer record as Non-Taxable

Set tax exempt status for customers the same way you normally would:

Remember: You're only able to set tax exempt status on customer records (not on locations records). When you go the location record attached to a tax exempt customer, you see the tax exempt status is automatically set.

  1. Search for and open the customer record.

  2. Click Edit edit pencil icon next to the customer's name.

  3. Select Non-taxable.

  4. When you're finished, click Save.

View tax exempt status on a location record

Tax exempt status for location records automatically matches the customer record they're attached to. To view the tax exempt status on the location record:

  1. Search for and open the location record.

  2. Click Edit edit pencil icon next to the location name.

  3. You see the Non-Taxable checkbox on the location record is grayed out and inherited from the customer record. You aren't able to set or change the tax exempt status on the location record.

Remember: If you want to make changes to the tax exempt status, you can do so on the customer record.
