Service equipment with materials or tasksLast updated on 09/09/2022

While on a job, you can service pieces of equipment with materials or tasks in your pricebook. For example, technicians can replace an air filter with a material in your pricebook, and then install the air filter with a task in your pricebook. Once added, both materials and tasks are added to the job’s invoice and to its audit trail.

Things to know

  • You can only service equipment with a service or material if the customer has existing equipment on file. For more on adding existing equipment, see Add equipment without invoicing the customer.

  • Tasks or materials used to service equipment come from your pricebook. For more on adding tasks and materials to your pricebook, see Add and edit pricebook items.

  • You can see which piece of equipment a task or material serviced by tapping on it from INVOICE. The linked equipment is listed at the bottom.
