Manage and book jobs in a projectLast updated on 03/07/2023

When working on a project, you can also manage jobs under that project. This includes booking jobs directly from the project, duplicating existing jobs to create new jobs, attaching existing jobs to a project, and moving jobs from one project to another.

  • When you book a new job outside of a project, including booking a job from a call, we recommend you follow the steps in the Book a job guide.


Best practice for construction projects

When booking jobs for construction projects, we recommend you book the job directly through the project instead of through a sold and converted estimate. This is important if you’re using the Application for Payment feature to avoid reporting more project revenue than actually earned.


Book a job from a project

  1. Find the project to which you want to add a job.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, click Book New Job. Call Booking opens.

  3. Use the Call Booking page to book the job. The job is automatically attached to the project.


Book a duplicate job from a project

Note: Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

When an existing job on a project has the same information as the job that you want to book, you can duplicate the original job. For example, if you’re booking work for a project that spans multiple business units and technicians, you can duplicate a job you’ve already booked and change the technicians and business unit on it. That way, you can avoid filling out the Call Booking page with the same information, focusing instead on the scope of work and making sure the correct technicians and business units are assigned to the new job.

To book a duplicate job from a project:

  1. Find the project to which you want to add a duplicate job.

  2. Go to Jobs & Appointments.

  3. Select the job you want to copy.

  4. From the Job Actions dropdown, click Duplicate Job. Call Booking opens.

  5. Use the Call Booking page to edit the job information as needed and book the job.


Attach an existing job to a project

  1. Find the project to which you want to attach an existing job.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Attach Existing Job. Attach existing job opens.

  3. In the Attach existing job pop-up, use the dropdown list to select the existing job you want to attach. Note: ServiceTitan pulls up jobs that have the same service location as the current project.

    Tip: Enter the first few numbers of the job in the search bar to find the existing job you want.

  4. When you're finished, click Attach.


Move jobs from one project to another

If you added a job to the wrong project, you can detach the job from the incorrect project and attach it to the correct one:

  1. Find the project connected to the job you want to move.

  2. Go to the Jobs & Appointments tab.

  3. Select the job you want to detach.

  4. From the Job Actions dropdown, select Detach from project.

  5. Click Ok to confirm.

You can now attach the job to the correct project.
