Sales Tracking Report by Detail GuideLast updated on 03/22/2022

Purpose of the Sales Tracking Report by Detail:

This report provides a detailed summary of the sales performance of your technicians. Each section of this report is based on a different type data (refer to the report sections below for more information).

While a job is in progress
  • The job will appear only in the Sold and Left section for the technician who sold the estimate.

  • The job will not appear in any other section of the report, for any other technician, until the job is completed.

Once a job is completed
  • The job will appear in other sections of the report.

  • If the technician who sold the job did perform the work, the job will move from the Sold and Left section to the Sold and Performed section.

  • If the technician who sold the job did not perform the work, the job will remain in Sold and Left for that technician. The job will also appear in the Performed Only section for the technician(s) who performed the work.

Common uses for this report:

  • Use this report to view revenue from tech-generated leads, number of jobs sold by the technician, number of jobs where the technician performed work only, number of jobs where the technician both sold the job and performed the work.

Example Scenarios

Sold and Left (Sales Credit)

Your Comfort Advisor is sent to a customer to give them options/proposals. He sells the job, but will not perform any of the work himself, or even that day. He'll get credit for this sale by selling the estimate (Sold and Left credit).

Performed Only (Performing the Work)

Related to the scenario from above, your installers are sent on a job that was already sold by the comfort advisor. The invoice items that the comfort advisor sold are already on their invoice and are linked to the estimate the comfort advisor sold, even though the comfort advisor is NOT necessarily assigned to or listed on this current job/invoice. The installers will only get credit for performing these invoice items (Performed Only credit).

Sold and Performed (Sales Credit and Performing the Work)

The technician goes out to a customer and both sells and performs the work (Sold and Performed credit).

If there is more than one technician working a job (technician splits)

When there are technician splits (multiple technicians assigned to a job), each technician will get credit for his/her percentage of the split. For the technician who sold the job, splits will be handled as follows:

  • If the sales tech is part of the job split: The sold by technician will get Sold and Performed credit for his/her split percentage. The sold by technician will also get Sold and Left credit for the remaining percentage of the job, assigned to other technicians. All other technicians will get Performed Only credit, according to their split percentage.

  • If the sales tech is not part of the job split: The technician will get 100% sales credit (Sold and Left). All other technicians will get Performed Only credit, according to their split percentage.

Example Scenario - Technician sells an estimate, then performs part of the work:

Joe sells a $1000.00 estimate. He is dispatched to the job with Frank, who helps him with a portion of the job. Joe is given a 75% split on the job, and Frank is given a 25% split. On the Sales Tracking Report, Joe is given $750.00 Sold and Performed credit (the portion of the job where he sold and performed the work). Joe is also given $250.00 Sold and Left credit (this is the portion of the job where Frank helped him - but it was still Joe who sold the job, so Joe gets Sold and Left credit). Frank will be given $250.00 Performed Only credit (for the 25% split where he performed the work).
