Process credit card payments in MobileLast updated on 08/29/2022

You can process credit card payments in ServiceTitan Mobile using a swiper, taking a picture of the credit card, or entering the credit card manually.

Things to know

  • You can accept check payments in ServiceTitan Mobile without an internet connection. After you accept payment, the Pay screen shows this message: Not yet processed. Please sync your device within 72 hours to fully process payment. The transaction is stored and then later processed once the mobile app is synced.

Option 1: Swipe the credit card

  1. Navigate to the invoice.

  2. Tap Pay, then tap Pay Balance. Select Credit Card or an equivalent payment type (for example, Visa).

  3. Enter payment amount. Select Full balance or enter a specific amount.

  4. Once you tap Use Swiper, the button will say Ready To. You are now ready to swipe the card.

  5. Swipe the credit card. Note: The magnetic strip should be facing the thicker part of the swiper. The front of the credit card should be facing you.

  6. If the swipe is successful, the customer name, credit card number, and expiration date will automatically populate. Note: When you swipe a credit card, you do not need the CVV or billing zip to process the payment.

  7. Check Store payment data for future payments to store the credit card info (ask the customer first).

  8. Tap Charge at the top of the screen. This takes you to the customer signature page.

  9. Have the customer sign to authorize the payment. Note: ServiceTitan will store the digital signature in case there is a future dispute.

  10. Once the customer signs, tap Accept to process the payment.

Note: If you cannot get swiping to work, you can always manually enter the credit card. See Option three below for instructions.

Option 2: Take a picture of the credit card (Mobile Check Capture)

When you take a picture of a credit card, the payment will be processed in the same way as a manually entered transaction. Note: If your company’s account has not been configured for this feature, you will not see the Scan Card button.

  1. Navigate to the invoice.

  2. Tap Pay, then tap Pay Balance. Select Credit Card or an equivalent payment type (for example, Visa).

  3. Enter payment amount. Select Full balance or enter a specific amount.

  4. Tap Scan Card in the middle of the screen. This brings up the camera so you can take a picture of the card.

  5. If the credit card information was captured, the credit card number and expiration date will be filled out on the payment screen. You will need to manually enter the rest of the customer’s information, including the name (as it appears on the card), CVV, and billing zip.

  6. Check Store payment data for future payments to store the credit card info (ask the customer first).

  7. Tap Charge at the top of the screen. This takes you to the customer signature page.

  8. Have the customer sign to authorize the payment. Note: ServiceTitan will store the digital signature in case there is a future dispute.

  9. Once the customer signs, tap Accept to process the payment.
