Overview
In Marketing Pro, you can view the segment details and manage the details of the segment members. This helps you to better target the people you want to reach with your marketing content, helping you save on marketing costs.

Marketing managers, business owners, and other marketers on your team
Primarily for Commercial Service & Replacement and Residential Service & Replacement business types
Things to know
You need to have at least one segment archived to go to the Archived tab on the Segments screen.
The reach for all active segments is recalculated daily so the list of customers tied to the segment is kept up-to-date. The reach is not recalculated for a segment after it's archived.
All dates related to the segment are in the time zone configured for the tenant.
Overview of the Acquisition Segments Dashboard
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences > Acquisition Segments.

On the Segments screen, you can view your Active/Draft and Archived segments. The table contains the following details for each segment:
Name: The unique name of the segment.
Total Reach: The number of customers the segment can reach by direct mail. If the reach is not calculated, one of the following statuses can be displayed:
"-" (None): Filter criteria are not defined for the segment.
Calculating: The reach for the segment is being recalculated.
Calculation Failed: The latest reach calculation failed. Please reach out to Customer Support for further assistance.
Date Created: The date when the segment is created.
Last Modified: The date of the last action—created, edited, cloned, archived, or unarchived—performed on the segment.
Overview of the Retention Segments Dashboard
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences > Retention Segments.

On the Segments screen, you can view your Active/Draft and Archived segments. The table contains the following details for each segment:
Name: The unique name of the segment.
Total Reach: The number of customers the segment can reach by direct mail or email. If the reach is not calculated, one of the following statuses can be displayed:
"-" (None): Filter criteria are not defined for the segment.
Calculating: The reach for the segment is being recalculated.
Calculation Failed: The latest reach calculation failed. Please reach out to Customer Support for further assistance.
Direct Mail Reach: The number of customers the segment can reach by direct mail.
Email Reach: The number of customers the segment can reach by email.
Status: Segment status based on its progress from the date you created it.
Date Created: The date when the segment is created.
Last Modified: The date of the last action—created, edited, cloned, archived, or unarchived—performed on the segment.
Understand Retention Segment statuses
You can filter the Retention Segments table by the segment status. Segments fall under one of the three statuses:
Draft: Segments are created, but the condition you want to filter your customers against is not selected.
Active: Segments are created and the condition filters are selected.
Archived: Segments are manually stopped by a user. You can reactivate a segment.
Understand Segment statuses

View active and archived Segments
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to view.
Click the Active or Archived segment for which you want to view details.

View Draft Segments
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to view.
Click a draft segment to view its builder's details. The Segment Builder opens.
Edit Draft Segments
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to edit.
In the Active / Drafts tab, find the draft segment you want to update and click Edit
. 
On the screen that opens, update the filters and details as necessary.
When finished, click Save for Retention Segments or Continue for Acquisition Segments. After the new information is saved, the application recalculates the reach.
Note: The Status of the Segment changes to Active.
Edit Active Segments
Modifying an active segment affects campaigns that currently use that segment. Make sure to review your campaigns and confirm that the modified segment is still applicable to the campaign.
To edit an active segment:
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to edit.
In the Active / Drafts tab, find the active segment you want to update and click Edit
. 
On the screen that opens, update the filters and details as necessary.
When finished, click Save for Retention Segments or Continue for Acquisition Segments.
Note: You can also edit active segments from the segment's details screen. For more, see Marketing Pro Segment detail overview.
Recalculate a Segment
Note: You can only recalculate active segments.
To recalculate a segment:
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to recalculate.
Click More
, then select Recalculate. 
The Total Reach, Direct Mail Reach, and Email Reach number of customers are recalculated for Retention Segments. The Total Reach is recalculated for Acquisition Segments.
Clone a Segment
If you have an active segment that's working well, you can clone it to use as a template for future segments. The reach and all filter criteria are cloned from the selected segment.
To clone a segment:
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to clone.
Click More
next to the segment you want to clone, then select Clone. 
Enter a name for the cloned segment, then click Clone.

Archive a Segment
When you no longer need a segment, you can archive the segment to remove it from the list of active segments. This prevents it from being added to a new or modified campaign.
Note: A segment can't be archived if it is tied to an active campaign.
To archive a segment:
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to archive.
Click More
, then select Archive. 
In the confirmation pop-up that opens, click Confirm.
Unarchive a Segment
Unarchive segments that you previously archived to restore them to the Active Segments list. This allows your team to add them to marketing campaigns again. After you unarchive a segment, the reach number of customers is recalculated.
To unarchive a segment:
Go to Marketing Pro > Audiences.
Select Acquisition Segments or Retention Segments depending on the type of segment you want to unarchive.
Click the Archived tab.
Select a segment and click Unarchive.
