You can set which office employees can view, edit, and export content from the dashboard, allowing you to protect access to sensitive data. You can set permissions by company role or for an individual.
Things to know
You must have the office employee permission,Allow editing of reporting permissions enabled to edit dashboard permissions. Administrators have this permission enabled by default. For more, see Set administrative reporting permissions.
Set reporting permissions to manage view and edit access to Custom Dashboard modules based on the report template used in the module.
Reporting permissions do not apply to the Modular Dashboard. To restrict access to specific modules of the Modular Dashboard,Manage Modular Dashboard settings.
To view dashboards, office employees must also have the View Dashboard permission enabled. You can enable this permission for an individual or by company role.
Set permissions by company role
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.
In the side panel, go to Operations>Dashboards.Dashboard Settings opens.
In the Permissions tab, for the role you want to set permissions for, select a permission to enable it:
View Dashboards—Can view dashboards
Edit Dashboards—Can edit dashboards and dashboard modules
Export Modular Dashboard Drilldown—Can export drilldown report details as XLSX or PDF files
Note: You cannot select the edit or export options without also selecting the view option.Tip: Use the Actions dropdown to manage sharing access for all company roles.
When you’re finished, click Save Changes.
In the Save Changes? pop-up, click Save to confirm the action.Note: To apply the new permissions to employees already assigned to that role, select Apply changes to existing users. Otherwise, the new permissions only apply to office employees assigned to that role after you save the changes.
Set permissions by office employee
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.
In the side panel, go to Operations>Dashboards.Dashboard Settings opens.
In the Permission tab, click Manage by role and select Manage individual users from the dropdown.
For the individual you want to set permissions for, select a permission to enable or disable it:
View Dashboards—Can view dashboards
Edit Dashboards—Can edit dashboards and dashboard modules
Export Modular Dashboard Drilldown—Can export drilldown report details as XLSX or PDF files
Note: You cannot select the edit or export options without also selecting the view option.
When you’re finished, click Save Changes.
In the Save Changes? pop-up, click Save to confirm the action.
