Edit membership typesLast updated on 09/13/2022

If you want to change a membership discount setting or add a recurring service to a membership, edit the membership type.

Things to know

  • If you make changes to a membership type, existing customer memberships are affected for the following settings: Membership Name, Tags, and Discount. Changes to these settings are reflected on future jobs and invoices.

  • Any other changes to a membership type do not affect existing memberships. For example, if you increase the billing template for a membership type from $10/month to $15/month, all existing memberships will continue to be billed at $10/month.

  • You can make changes to an individual customer’s membership rather than to a membership type. Changes to an individual membership do not affect the membership type or any other customer’s membership.

Edit a membership type

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .

  2. From the side panel, go to Invoicing > Membership Types.

  3. Click Edit next to the membership type you want to edit.

  4. The top navigation of the Edit Membership guided workflow is separated into steps. Click the dropdown arrow to view all the settings within that step and click the settings you want to change. See Create membership types to learn about individual membership settings.

  5. After editing the membership settings, click Save & Next until you reach the Summary.

To create another membership type containing the same information as this type, click Clone. This duplicates the existing membership type, which you can then edit as needed.

To deactivate a membership type, click on the Active toggle. A confirmation message will open confirming you want to deactivate the membership type. Click Deactivate to continue.

Note: Active memberships created from a membership type are not affected if you deactivate the membership type. If you want to cancel an existing customer’s membership, see Cancel or delete a customer’s membership.
