Connect a credit card swiper to your Mobile deviceLast updated on 03/22/2022

Follow the steps below to connect a card swiper to your mobile device.


Step one: Connect the credit card swiper

  • The swiper should be connected to your tablet (not a mobile phone).

  • Insert the swiper.

  • Make sure the volume on the device is set to maximum before swiping (otherwise, the swiper will not work). Note: Certain devices will automatically adjust to maximum volume when inserting the swiper. This auto-adjusting feature works on iPads and some Android devices. Auto-adjusting does not work on Mobile phones.

  • When swiping, the magnetic strip of the credit card should face the thicker part of the swiper and the front of the credit card should face you.


Step two: Download the Pricebook

You’ll need to download the Pricebook before you start accepting payments for the first time in ServiceTitan Mobile.

How to download the Pricebook:

  1. Open ServiceTitan Mobile.

  2. Click the sync icon synclocated in the top right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Download pricebook.


FAQ

Which devices are compatible with the swiper?

All Apple devices and a majority of Android devices are supported. If you are using an Android device, check the compatibility list to make sure your device is compatible with the aDynamo. We cannot guarantee compatibility with any device not found in the list.

What happens if my swiper breaks?

Swipers may be returned within 30 days of the purchase date for a full refund. Swipers are also under a one year warranty. If a swiper is deemed malfunctioning, a replacement will be sent directly to you as long as it is still under warranty. Please contact payments@servicetitan.com for refunds or replacements.
