Building36 Leads IntegrationLast updated on 02/27/2023
Use Leads Integration to manage booking requests you receive directly from Building36 in ServiceTitan. This helps to automate the conversion of leads you receive to jobs.
Things to know
If you are not already a Building36 dealer, before you begin working with the Building36 Integration you need to sign up to become a dealer through the Building36 website.
Setup is required to integrate your leads from Building36 into ServiceTitan.
Only users with Administrator or Owner roles in ServiceTitan can accept the data agreement to set up the integration.
If a Standard Job Type has multiple Custom Job types and/or Business Units mappings, the Job Type and business units will not pre-populate in the lead.
Only a pre-set list of high-priority alert types is sent from Building6 into ServiceTitan at this time. For each available lead type and its frequency, see below.
Available Building36 lead types and frequencies
While Building36’s smart home solutions generate numerous HVAC and plumbing system alerts, this integration currently brings only the highest priority alerts into your ServiceTitan booking screen to ensure that all immediately actionable leads are being surfaced to your business.
You can see all high-priority alert types, their associated Standard Job Type in ServiceTitan, and the frequency at which they appear in your ServiceTitan booking screen in the following table:
For more information on Standard Job Types, see Map Job Types.
Setting up the Building36 Integration
As a Building36 dealer, you need to complete the following steps to ensure the Building36 integration setup for all accounts or locations with your ServiceTitan account.
Step 1: Accept the authorization form
Step 2: Authorize the Building36 integration
Step 3: Map job types to business units
Step 4: Map job types in Marketing Integrations
Step 1: Accept the authorization form
You must review and accept the terms of the Authorization Form in ServiceTitan. With Building36 integration, providers can view the Authorization Form. Note: Only administrators and owners can accept the authorization form.
To accept the authorization form:
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .
In the side panel, click Integrations > Marketing Integrations.
Click Configure next to the Building36 integration.
On the Data Agreement page that opens, read through the authorization form. When you’re finished, select that you’ve read the terms and click Agree.
Tip: Click Download PDF to download the agreement for future reference. Another way to view the agreement in the future is to click More
from the Buidling36 integration page and select View Agreement.
Step 2: Authorize the Building36 integration
After you accept the Authorization Form, connect your Building36 account(s) to ServiceTitan. You’re prompted to log in and permit the connection from the Building36 integration page.
To authorize the Building36 integration:
Click Sign in with Building36.
In the Building36 Partner Portal login window, enter your login information and submit.
This will take you to a Building36 page notifying you that you have successfully paired your Building36 account with ServiceTitan.
Go back to ServiceTitan to finish pairing. Note: After you connect your account with Building36, you will receive information from Building36 about the accounts and profiles included in the integration.
After your account is connected, you can assign business units (BUs) to this account:
If you have profiles set up with Building36, select BUs for each profile. This helps us communicate efficiently with Building36 to receive and post the correct leads on your booking screen.
If you don’t have profiles set up or you have more than one account, select the BUs you want to associate with the account.
(Optional) If you need to connect multiple Building36 accounts to your ServiceTitan account, open your ServiceTitan settings in an Incognito Window. After you navigated to Marketing Integrations > Configure Building36 in the Incognito, click + Add Account to add another Building36 account. This will prompt you to sign in to the Building36 Partner Portal using a different set of credentials.
When you’re finished, click Save. This takes you to the next step of mapping job types.
Step 3: Map job types to business units
After authorizing the Buidling36 integration, configure the integration by setting the default job type mapping. This helps you save time when you begin using the integration. Additionally, mapping job types helps us receive and post the leads correctly for you on the booking page and dispatch.
Under each vertical which applies to your business (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and more), map your job types to ServiceTitan standard job types. Then, apply the BUs that service these job types.
After this step is completed, the integration launches and you begin receiving any new leads from your Buidling36 account.
Note: You only need to do this once and the job type mapping will be leveraged for future integrations as well. If you have already completed mapping your job types to the standard job types, you will not need to do this again. For example, if you are already using the Google Local Services Integration, you don’t need to complete this step as you have already completed it.
To map job types to business units:
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .
In the side panel, click Integrations >Marketing Integrations.
Click Configure next to the Buidling36 integration. The Buidling36 integration page opens.
Click Job Types. The Job Types window opens.
Click Go To Job Type Mapping to go and map job types.
On the Job Type Mapping page that opens, map the Standard Job Types to your job types and business units. For more information, see Map Job Types.
When you’re finished, click Save Changes.
Click Return to Integration Setup. On the Buidling36 integration page, you can find the job types and the BUs that are part of the leads integration.
Review the job type mapping.
When you’re finished, click Finish to complete the integration setup.
Step 4: Map job types in Marketing Integrations
To enable or disable job types configured in global Job Type Mapping:
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings > Integrations > Marketing Integrations.
Click Configure next to the Buidling36 integration.
On the Buidling36 integration page, click Job Types.
Select the trade you want to disable any of its standard job types, and turn off the Enabled toggle if you want to disable the job type. Note: The Enabled toggle is active by default.
When you’re finished, click Save. Your Buidling36 integration is set up and ready to receive booking requests in ServiceTitan.
Tip: You can resume configuration at any stage by clicking Finish Editing next to the Buidling36 integration.
Book a job from a Building36 lead
You can book a job for a lead you’ve received from Building36 through the Calls screen:
Go to the navigation bar and click Calls, then click Bookings. The Bookings window opens. Note: Depending on your account setup type the Calls tab is read as the Job Booking tab too.
Select the lead you want to book. Note: On the booking card you can view the customer’s contact information, lead submitted date, extra details provided by Building36, and the leads integration and logo.
Review lead details and click Accept. Note:If the customer listed in the booking card does not automatically match with a customer in your records, this can be because the customer’s information such as address is not an exact match between ServiceTitan and Building36. To match the booking card with the existing customer in your ServiceTitan records, simply search for the customer in the booking card.
(Optional) If you have an in-house Smart Home Manager, Sales Lead Coordinator, or another office resource that manages all smart home-related leads, you can instruct your CSRs to route leads from Builing36 to the Follow Ups tab for further review. To do this see Use Customer Leads. Tip: Reach out to the customer. Building36 leads are system-generated alerts and not bookings, it is considered best practice to use the lead as an opportunity to reach out to the customer, let them know you were alerted of an issue, and convert the lead to a job.
Enter job details to complete booking the job. Note: The marketing campaign “Building36” is selected by default.
