Process credit card payments in ServiceTitan Mobile with the BBPOS credit card readerLast updated on 09/08/2022

After you build or sell an estimate in ServiceTitan Mobile, you can process payments from the mobile app using the BBPOS card reader.

Things to know

Process payments with the BBPOS card reader

  1. Navigate to the Invoice or Estimate screen and tap Pay.

  2. On the Pay screen, choose a payment type and enter the amount.

  3. Tap Use Swiper.

  4. If a pop-up opens asking you to choose whether you are using the EMV or headphone swiper, tap EMV.

  5. Review the payment details. To keep the card on file, select Remember this card.

  6. Tap Continue. A pop-up opens and asks you to process the charge using the EMV swiper.

  7. Follow the instructions on the screen. If the card has a chip, try the chip reader first:

    1. Turn on the BBPOS card reader and enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.

    2. If multiple swipers are detected, tap the reader that matches the serial number found on the back of your BBPOS card reader.

    3. Once connected, tap Ready to swipe. The swiper initializes to prepare for the transaction.

    4. Insert the card into the chip reader. ServiceTitan Mobile automatically starts processing the transaction.

    5. After the EMV reader shows that the transaction is approved, remove the card. The confirmed amount appears. If there’s a balance, it shows that too.

When the payment confirmation is complete, the Credit Card Payment Authorization screen opens. This can take up to five seconds.

    6. Read and agree to the terms then sign.

    7. After you have a signature, tap Accept. The screen shows whether the payment was approved.

    8. When you’re finished, tap Done to return to the job.

BBPOS refund and return policy

New BBPOS Chipper devices may be returned. Returns of non-new equipment due to failure or manufacturer defects are handled as well.

Note: To initiate a return and obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA), contact ServiceTitan Customer Service at fintechsupport@servicetitan.com. The RMA will be issued to you electronically once the return is authorized. All returns must include an RMA. Packages without an RMA will not be accepted. The RMA helps coordinate your return with the receiving, technical, and customer service departments to get the fastest response to your needs.

  • New Equipment BBPOS Chipper returns must be made within 30 days of the invoice date of your purchase. Returned items must be in original packaging, in new condition with the original packing slip, manuals, and accessories. No refunds or exchanges will be made on devices that have been clearly used or are without the original packaging and accessories. If you return a product to us, we will refund your purchase price, minus shipping charges, and any applicable restocking fees. Non-defective returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, as we can no longer sell the equipment as new. We won’t accept returns on obviously used equipment. Note: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping and handling unless an order fulfillment error was made on our part. We will process your return as quickly as possible after the condition of the devices has been verified.

  • Defective Equipment If your BBPOS Chipper doesn’t operate as designed, contact us immediately. We offer a 30-day no-lemon guarantee that protects you from defective equipment. We will exchange defective equipment for the same equipment at no cost to you. You must contact us within 30 days of the invoice date of your purchase to make a defective equipment claim. After 30 days past the invoice date, returns for any reason will no longer be accepted.
