Apply membership discountsLast updated on 09/23/2022
Customers who have memberships can receive a discount on items in your pricebook. This discount can vary according to what the customer orders and who the customer is. This article describes multiple methods of giving members discounts.
Things to know
To give a member a discount, it helps to have at least one membership set up. See Understanding Memberships to learn how to create a membership.
You can apply membership prices to services and equipment items. To apply membership prices to material items, contact Technical Support.
It helps to have business units or categories set up before configuring membership discounts. See How to add or edit business units to learn how to set up business units and categories.
Using discounts with Pricebook
Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.
In the side menu, click Services or Equipment, depending on the item you want to edit. The item table opens.
Browse the table or use the search field to find the item you want to edit. You can search by item code, name, or description. Tip: To filter the list of items, click Filters. You can filter based on category, sold hours, price, and other details. After setting your filters, click Apply.
For the item you want to edit, on the right side of the item table, click More and select View/Edit Item.
The Edit Item screen opens.
In the Member Price field, edit or apply a new membership price.
Using discounts with Membership Type Settings
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .
In the side panel, click Invoicing > Membership Types.
On the membership type you want to add a discount to, click Edit.
The Edit Membership screen opens.
Under Step 1, click the Basics dropdown, and then click Discount.
Select Allow proportional markup of standard price on $0 items. You can select one of three ways to apply discounts to your membership types.
All Services—Applies a universal discount to all member invoices items, including materials, services, and equipment. Add the percentage amount you would like to discount.
Business Units—Selecting Business Units applies a discount to invoice items based on the business unit that has been assigned to the job. Click the Business Units dropdown then click the business unit(s) to apply the discount. Enter the percentage amount you would like to discount. Note: If you select Do not discount if percentage is set to 0% and set a business unit discount percentage to 0%, the discount for that business unit will be 0%. This will override any member price from the pricebook.
Categories—This is the most common method of setting up discounts in ServiceTitan. This applies a discount to everything that falls under a category from your pricebook. See How to set up Pricebook categories and subcategories for more information. Note: If you select Do not discount if percentage is set to 0% and set a pricebook category discount percentage to 0%, the discount for that category will be 0%. This will override any member price from the pricebook.
When done, click Save & Next.
