Advanced overrides allow you to aggregate labeled expenses into a single line item in the Budget vs Actual table of a project.
Things to know
Project categories are now called advanced overrides.
You can view advanced overrides or project labels in the Budget vs Actual table.
For projects originally created with advanced overrides, when the account configuration is disabled you can still view labels or advanced overrides in the Budget vs Actual table without enabling advanced overrides again.
Associate project labels to advanced overrides
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.
In the side panel, click Operations>Project Settings. Tip: See Create project labels for information about setting up labels. Create Project Labels opens.
Click the Advanced Overrides dropdown to select an override for each label.
For example, assign Trainee labor to the Labor override to include in labor costs.
Note: If the override you want is not on the list, you can create a new override.
When you’re finished, click Save.
Create advanced overrides
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.
In the side panel, click Operations>Project Settings.
Click + Add Option.
The Add Advanced Overrides screen opens.
Click + Add Advanced Override.
In the Advanced Override field, enter the override name.
When you’re finished adding overrides, click Apply and Save.
Click Save on the Project Labels screen. Now you can assign the overrides you created to existing project labels.
View Budget vs Actual
Search for a specific project or use filters to select projects.
From the side menu, click Financials.
In the Budget vs Actual section of the Project screen:
Click Labels to see data at the label level.
Click Overrides to see data at the override level.
Tip: To drill down to see the individual labels in the Expense Details table, click an item:
