# Unable to edit a visit

## Reasons why you can't edit a visit

When working with Service Agreements visits, there are situations where you can't [edit a visit](/v1/docs/manage-service-agreements-visits#edit-a-visit). These include:

- The visit is already booked into a job.
- The job status is *Completed*.
- The job invoice is not in *Pending* status.
- The visit is marked as *Dismissed*.

If you want to edit the visit, you can [detach the job](/v1/docs/service-agreements-dashboard-overview). This changes the visit status to *Unscheduled*, at which point you can edit it and rebook the job.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** If the job has already been worked and completed, you can't detach the visit from the job and the visit remains uneditable.
