# Tenant naming and short name in NetSuite

## Overview

##

Each tenant in the SuiteApp can be assigned a Short Name to improve clarity and traceability across both systems. This Short Name appears on the tenant record and is automatically applied to synced transactions to help identify their origin.

###

#### Who uses this feature

- Administrators, office employees, managers, accountants, and bookkeepers
- Applies to all business types
- Applies to all trades

#### Feature configuration

- This feature is currently in Private Preview and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change.

## Key behavior

- The Short Name is configured during tenant setup in the SuiteApp.
- When a transaction syncs from ServiceTitan to NetSuite, the Short Name is added as a prefix to the transaction number.

## Example

If a tenant is created for the Alabama region with a Short Name of ALB, an invoice synced from that tenant might appear in NetSuite as ALB-3883-1.

This approach provides clear visibility into which tenant generated each transaction, which is especially useful in multi-tenant environments.
