# Put technicians on meal breaks

## Overview

You can put technicians on a meal break from the office or technicians can [start their meal break in ServiceTitan Mobile](/v1/docs/clock-io-servicetitan-mobile). This helps managers track timesheet events so work hours are logged accurately.

- Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact [Technical Support](http://go.servicetitan.com/ask) for details.

## Things to know

- Meal breaks appear as non-job events on technician timesheets.
- To clock into meal breaks, technicians must have the *Clock In and Out* permission enabled. Contact your company administrator for details.
- By default, meal breaks are set to *Unpaid*. You can set the *Meal* timesheet code to *Paid* by [editing your timesheet codes](/v1/docs/set-up-timesheet-codes).

## Put a technician on a meal break

1. Go to the navigation bar and click **Dispatch.** The Dispatch Board opens.
2. Click the name or profile photo of the technician you want to put on a meal break. 3.
