# What is the process for adding holidays to the Schedule Board calendar in ServiceTitan?

## Problem

You want to know if it's possible to add holidays to the Schedule Board calendar.

## Solution

To add holidays to the Schedule Board calendar, create a [non-job event](/v1/docs/schedule-and-manage-non-job-events#schedule-a-nonjob-event) or [technician shift](/v1/docs/use-technician-shifts). If you want to block capacity, use a non-job event.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** Non-job events are shown on both the Schedule Board and Dispatch Board. Technician Shifts are only shown on the Dispatch Board.

### Option 1: Block off capacity with non-job events

1. Go to the navigation bar and click **Dispatch ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/what-is-the-process-for-adding-holidays-to-the-schedule-board-calendar-in-servicetitan-image-wql31ga3.png)**.
2. On the *Daily* view, click a blank space.
3. On the *New Event* window that opens, click **Edit Event**.
4. On the *Edit Event* screen that opens, add the holiday details.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** Make sure to select the correct timesheet code. If you don't select a timesheet code, you can select **Visible to technician schedule in the mobile app**.
5. On the side, add each technician you want to include for the holiday, or click **Select All** to add all technicians.
6. Select **Remove technician from open capacity board**.
7. When finished, click **Save**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/what-is-the-process-for-adding-holidays-to-the-schedule-board-calendar-in-servicetitan-image-lxaudt0k.png)

This blocks technicians' capacity for any ServiceTitan features that consume capacity.

### Option 2: Leave capacity open with Technician Shifts

1. Go to the navigation bar and click **Schedule ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/what-is-the-process-for-adding-holidays-to-the-schedule-board-calendar-in-servicetitan-image-yzsafyea.png)**.
2. On the screen that opens, click **Technician Shifts**.
3. Follow the steps to [create an Available working shift](/v1/docs/use-technician-shifts) for the holiday.

This leaves technician capacity open for any ServiceTitan features that consume capacity.

If you want to block off capacity with a shift instead of a non-job event, create a *Time Off* shift and delete any *Available* working shifts for the day.

The main scheduling and dispatching view in ServiceTitan showing all jobs, technicians, and appointment times in a grid or map layout.

**What it does:** Gives dispatchers a real-time view of the day's work to manually assign, drag-and-drop, or adjust job assignments.

**Also called:** Schedule board, Dispatch view
