# How can the technician's time off be shown on the schedule?

## Introduction

Use Technician Shifts to mark PTO on the schedule and improve job booking efficiency.

## Problem

You want to know how to mark when a technician is taking PTO in ServiceTitan.

## Solution

Use [Technician Shifts](/v1/docs/use-technician-shifts) to ensure technicians' PTO is visible on the Dispatch Board, aiding in efficient job booking.

### Show a technician's time off on the schedule

1. Go to the navigation bar and click **Schedule**.
2. Click the **Technician Shifts** tab**.**
3. Click **Create Shift**.
4. Click **Time Off**.
5. Enter details.
6. Enter time off for a single technician or multiple technicians. This will display a *Time Off* block for those hours or days.
7. When finished, click **Add to schedule**.

**What it does:** Gives dispatchers a real-time view of the day's work to manually assign, drag-and-drop, or adjust job assignments.
