Find job suggestions for a technician in Dispatch Pro

Overview

Use technician-centric suggestions in Dispatch Pro Assist to start from a technician instead of a Job. Select a technician on the Dispatch Board — especially one with an open gap in their schedule — and Dispatch Pro suggests jobs they can take. This makes it easier to keep specific technicians busy, such as during a slower season when protecting technician retention is a priority.

Who uses this feature

  • Dispatchers

  • Businesses using Dispatch Pro Assist Mode

Feature configuration

  • To get started with Dispatch Pro, review pricing and select your package here. You can also request a demo on our Pro Products page, or reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Pro Account Manager (PAM).

  • This feature is rolling out gradually. If you don't see it yet, contact your CSM or PAM to confirm availability for your account.

  • Certain permissions are required to set up and manage Dispatch Pro. To have these enabled, contact the account administrator on your team.

Things to know

  • Technician suggestions use the same job-suitability logic as job-centric Dispatch Assist (skills, zone, technician availability, Arrival Window, and business hours), just reoriented to start from the technician you select.

  • Dispatch Pro Assist Mode must be turned on to use this workflow. It requires the same setup as job-centric Dispatch Assist.

  • If a technician has no eligible jobs, you'll see a message letting you know no suggestions are currently available for them.

  • If a suggested job is part of a larger chain of related schedule changes, accepting it applies the full chain — not just part of it.

  • This flow doesn't override existing assignment rules. A technician only receives suggestions for jobs they're already eligible for.

  • This release doesn't yet include locking an assigned job against later auto-optimization, capturing a reason for overriding a recommendation, or scoring the impact of an override. Support for these is planned for a future release.

  2. On the Dispatch Board, locate and select the technician you want to find jobs for — for example, a technician with an open gap in their schedule or no jobs assigned yet.

  3. From the technician's panel, choose the option to view job suggestions.

  4. Review the suggested jobs. For each suggestion, you can see the:

    1. Job count change: The change in the number of jobs.

    2. Drive time change: The predicted change in drive time.

    3. Predicted value: The predicted monetary impact of the change.

  5. Click Accept to assign a suggested job to the technician. If you don't want to apply any of the suggestions, close the panel.
