# Find a Tax Item in QuickBooks Desktop: recommended workflow

## Things to know

- If you have received an Export Error and the **Entity Type** in the Export Error Reports is determined to be **Tax**, you will need to check your QuickBooks Desktop for the corresponding Tax Item.

## Workflows

### Find the Tax Item in the Item List

2. In the **Search Bar**, type the name of the Tax Item from the Error. For example, if the Tax Item is "ST Sales Tax", you will type ST Sales Tax Payable in the Search Bar and click **Search**.
