# Enter military and diplomatic addresses

## Overview

Your account can be configured to support USPS-sanctioned military and diplomatic addresses. You can enter military and diplomatic addresses anywhere you can enter a billing address. This helps you accurately route invoices to serve a broader customer base.

- Primarily for Commercial Service and Replacement and Commercial Construction business types

## Things to know

- You can only enter a ZIP code sanctioned by the USPS for overseas military and diplomatic mail. For more, see [Military & Diplomatic Mail (USPS)](https://www.usps.com/ship/apo-fpo-dpo.htm).
- You can only add a military or diplomatic address as a bill-to address on the Customer Record. You can’t add it as a service location address on a Location Record.
- If you’re creating a new Customer Record, this option is only available after you select **The customer is different from the Tenant**.

## Enter a military or diplomatic address

1. While [adding a new customer](/v1/docs/create-a-customer-record) or [editing an existing customer record](/v1/docs/customer-and-location-records-overview#edit-or-take-action-from-a-customer-or-location-record), select **Is this a military/diplomatic address? ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/enter-military-and-diplomatic-addresses-image-afh042lp.png)**

3. Select one option each from the *APO/FPO/DPO* dropdown:
  1. **APO:** Army Post Office (U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force)
  2. **FPO:**Fleet Post Office (U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps)
  3. **DPO:** Diplomatic Post Office
4. Select one option from the *AP/AA/AE* dropdown:
  1. **AP:** Armed Forces Pacific
  2. **AA:** Armed Forces (the) Americas
  3. **AE:** Armed Forces Europe
5. Add a USPS-sanctioned ZIP code for the address.
6. Enter the rest of the customer’s information as usual, including name, street address, phone number, and email address.
7. When finished, click **Save**.
