## Visualization types

Custom dashboards support multiple visualization types, giving you flexibility in how you display your business metrics. Types include:

- **Donut with legend and totals**: A pie chart that breaks down a KPI by another KPI with the total of the second KPI in the center. For example, a chart that shows the sum of sold estimates and the percentage of the total credited to each *Sold by* technician. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-j6m05wqu.png)
- **Simple bar chart**: A bar chart that breaks down a KPI by another KPI. For example, a module that shows the sum of sold estimate subtotals for each *Sold by* technician. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-iclx9t8b.png)
- **Multiple bar chart**: A bar chart that breaks down multiple KPIs by one dimension. For example, a module that shows the averages of sold estimate subtotals, revenue, and costs for each *Sold by* technician. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-9mu8g9q1.png)
- **Horizontal Bars**: The same as a simple bar chart except the bars are horizontal instead of vertical. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-il6jn7or.png)

## Create a visualization module

1. While creating or editing a custom dashboard, click **Add Module**.
2. Under *Module Type*, click the dropdown and select **Visualization**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-9c3iviq1.png)
3. Select the type of visualization you want to use. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-dk1g9thz.png) An interactive example of the visualization opens. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-cpifusjh.png)
4. Click **Next**.
5. Edit the module settings as needed:
  1. Enter a name for your module in the **Module Name** field.
  2. Select **Hide module title row** to hide the module name and filters from view on the dashboard. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-dlczj74e.png)
6. Click the **Select Template** dropdown and select the report template you want to use.
7. Click the **Select KPI** dropdown and select the KPI you want to focus your report on. 8. From the next **Select KPI** dropdown, select the KPI you want to measure. For example, if you select the BU name in the first dropdown, when you select **Completed Revenue** in the second dropdown, the visualization shows completed revenue by BU.
9. From the **Aggregation Method** dropdown, select how you want to calculate the KPI in the visualization:

> **Note:** Available options depend on the KPI. For example, *Sum* and *Average* are not available for date-based KPIs.

  2. **CountDistinct**: Total number of unique entries
  3. **Sum**: Sum of values
  4. **Average**: Sum of values divided by the number of entries
  5. **Minimum**: Smallest numerical value
  6. **Maximum**: Largest numerical value
10. When you’re finished, click **Add**. Or, if you’re building a multiple bar chart and you want to add additional KPIs, click **Add New** and repeat steps 8 and 9. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/create-and-edit-visualization-modules-for-custom-dashboards-image-hejvvo68.png)
