# Correct the retainage amount on an invoice for a project

## Problem

The retainage on an invoice for a project is incorrect. The invoice was already exported, so the retainage cannot be changed directly.

## Solution

1. [Search for](/v1/docs/use-search-in-servicetitan) and go to the invoice.
2. [Create an adjustment invoice](/v1/docs/create-an-adjustment-invoice).
3. Add a retainage task to the adjustment invoice.
4. Calculate the correct retainage amount.
5. Enter the calculated retainage amount in the retainage task.
6. Save the adjustment invoice.
