How can we close a job with an error message indicating no managed technician assigned?

Problem

You can't close a job because it says you need a managed technician assigned.

Solution

In order to complete a job in ServiceTitan, a managed technician timesheet must be added to the job. Adjust the invoice splits and assign a managed technician to the job to close it out.

Adjust splits of the invoice

  1. Go to the invoice page of the job you're trying to close out.

  2. Click Adjust Splits.

  3. Click Add another and add a managed technician from the dropdown list.

  4. In the Sold Hours (%) section, assign 100% of the splits to the managed technician you added. A cursor entering in the amount of sold hours.

  5. When you're finished, click Save.

Assign a managed technician to the job

If adjusting splits doesn't allow you to close the job, proceed to assign the managed technician directly to the appointment.

  1. Go to the appointment page for the job.

  2. In the Scheduled Appointments section, click Assign to select a managed technician. Ensure the technician is clocked in or available to be assigned.

  3. Click Dispatch > Arrive.

  4. Go to the Job Actions and select Complete Job.

  5. Update the invoice details and click Save.

Reschedule an appointment to next year

Note: The system expects an active managed technician with a timesheet to close, or reschedule a non-$0 job to a future date.

  1. In ServiceTitan, go to the appointment you want to move.

  2. Check if a managed technician is assigned to the appointment.

  3. If no technician is assigned, assign a managed technician.

  4. Try to reschedule the appointment to next year again.

  5. If the error persists, ensure all required fields are filled out.
