Overview

Coming Soon

Activity Timeline in Fleet Pro shows each vehicle’s day as driving, idling, and stop segments on one timeline. Fleet managers and dispatchers use it to see where a vehicle went, how long it idled or stopped, and what happened along the way. Instead of checking several screens, you can find the answer in one view.

Things to know

  • Activity Timeline shows one day at a time.

  • Idling means the vehicle’s ignition is on, but the vehicle isn’t moving.

  • Events appear on driving segments only. Stop and idling segments show the location, vehicle, driver, and duration.

  • The driver shown for each vehicle is the driver assigned to that vehicle in Fleet Pro.

  • When an event has video, you can watch it from the segment details.

Note: Activity Timeline is coming soon to Fleet Pro accounts after the ST-82 release.

Best practices

  • Turn on only the event types you want to review, so the timeline stays easy to read.

  • Use vehicle groups in the vehicle picker to review one team or location at a time.

  • Look for long orange idling segments to spot idling that may be costing you fuel.

Use cases

  • A customer calls about a late arrival, and you need to see where the vehicle went that day.

  • You want to see what happened during a trip, such as speeding or a low fuel alert.

  • A vehicle stopped somewhere unexpected, and you want to see the address and how long it stayed.

  • You want to find vehicles that idle for long periods during the day.

Open Activity Timeline

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Fleet Pro.

  2. In the side menu, click Activity Timeline.

Each vehicle has its own row, with the assigned driver’s name under the vehicle name. The timeline runs left to right by hour.

Choose vehicles and a date

Use the controls at the top of the page to choose what you see:

  • Choose Vehicle: Click the dropdown to search for and select vehicles or vehicle groups. Click Select All or None to change your selections quickly.

  • Date: Click the date field to choose a day. Click the left and right arrows to move back or forward one day.

  • Refresh: Click Refresh to load the latest activity.

Read the timeline

Each segment shows its type and time range. Segments are color coded:

Segment

What it means

Driving

Blue

Idling

Orange

The ignition was on, but the vehicle wasn’t moving.

Stop

Gray

The vehicle was stopped.

If a segment is too narrow to show its full label, hover over it to see the label and time range.

Show events on the timeline

Events, such as speeding or low fuel, can appear as markers on driving segments.

  1. Select the Events checkbox.

  2. Click the Events dropdown and select the event types you want to show.

  3. Hover over an event marker to see the event name and time.

If several events happen close together, the marker shows how many, such as +2.
