# Can't sell equipment through POS without a job

## **What you're seeing**

You want to sell equipment directly to a customer over the counter, without booking a job. When you use Point of Sale (POS), you can add materials and services to a POS invoice, but there's no way to add equipment.

## **Why this happens**

**Reason 1**

**ServiceTitan doesn't support selling equipment through POS without a job.** POS is designed for over-the-counter sales of materials and services that don't need a job, while equipment sales are tied to a booked job.

## **What you can do instead**

There's no way to sell equipment through POS on its own. To complete the sale, create a job just for the equipment.

### **1****Create a job for the equipment sale**

1. Create a job solely for the sale of the equipment.
2. Add the equipment and process the payment.
3. Close the job as you would for any other job.

> **✓ Done ·** The equipment sale is recorded and paid, the same way it would be on a normal job.
