# Return consignment items to a vendor

## Overview

Return consignment items to a consignment vendor.

#### Who uses this feature

- Administrators, office employees, and managers
- Applies to all business types

#### Feature configuration

- To use this feature, Inventory and Consignment must be enabled

## Things to know

- Consignment items cannot be returned to vendors that are not set up as consignment vendors.

## Return consignment items to a consignment vendor

1. Go to **Inventory > Returns > Create**.
2. Do not select a job number.
3. 4. Fill in additional details as needed.

> **Note:** A reference number is for your internal tracking purposes and can be a combination of letters and numbers of your choosing.
5. 6. When finished, click **Save.**
