# Project management overview

## Overview

These articles help you understand how to manage and track all your projects in real time using the Budget vs Actual table in ServiceTitan through step-by-step workflows. On the Project screen, you can easily view things like the project budget as well as actuals accrued as you complete the project. This new functionality gives you visibility into the phases of work your project goes through, percent expended and variances at an itemized level, and more. Use the workflows in this guide to:

Invoicing customers in stages as specific milestones of a large project are completed rather than in one lump sum at the end.

**What it does:** Improves cash flow on large or multi-day roofing and commercial jobs by collecting partial payments throughout the project.

The calculation of actual costs (labor, materials, overhead) against revenue for each job to determine true profitability.

**What it does:** Shows which job types, technicians, or BUs are truly profitable after accounting for all costs, not just top-line revenue.
