Manage equipment types

Overview

The Equipment Types screen centralizes equipment type setup to reduce manual entry and manage maintenance material types and maintenance schedules. This improves efficiency, reduces errors, and supports scalable, consistent maintenance operations.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators

  • Primarily for all business types

  • Applies to all trades

Feature configuration

  • This feature is currently in Private Preview and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change.

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

Create equipment types

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click Settings  A simple icon representing a settings gear..

  2. In the side panel, go to Equipment > Equipment Types.

  3. Click +Add Equipment TypeTable displaying equipment types with options to add and filter entries.

  4. Enter equipment type details:        

    1. Name: Enter the name of the equipment.

    2. Business Units: Select one or more business units from the dropdown.

    3. Capacity Type: Select the capacity type from the dropdown.

    4. Capacity Levels: Select capacity levels, start or stop and increments. You can set up to 1000 levels.

    5. Replacement Age: Set the replacement age for the equipment type.

    6. Tags: Select any relevant tags from the dropdown.

There are two ways to edit equipment types: inline editing and traditional editing. Both update the same information, differing only in how the changes are made.

Inline edit equipment types

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click Settings  A simple icon representing a settings gear..

  2. In the side panel, go to Equipment Management > Equipment Types.

  3. Select the equipment type you want to edit.

  4. To enable inline editing, turn on the Edit Mode toggle. Equipment types table showing water softener details and edit mode toggle option.

  5. If you want to edit an entry:        

    1. Click the field to enable and edit it. Press Esc to undo your edit.

    2. Press Enter or Tab to accept your edit. Table displaying water softener details including business units and capacity levels.

Edit equipment types

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click Settings  A simple icon representing a settings gear..

  2. In the side panel, go to Equipment Management > Equipment Types.

  3. Select an equipment type you want to edit.

  4. Click Actions and select View/Edit Equipment Type

  5. In the Edit screen that opens, edit the item information as needed.

  6. When finished, click Save Changes.

Duplicate equipment types

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear..

  2. In the side panel, go to Equipment Management > Equipment Types.

  3. Select an equipment type you want to duplicate.

  4. Click Actions and select Duplicate.

Deactivate equipment types

Note: You can't delete an equipment type, but you can deactivate it so that it won't show up in locations.

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear..

  2. In the side panel, go to Equipment Management > Equipment Types.

  3. Select an equipment type you want to deactivate.

  4. Click Actions and select  Deactivate.

  5. On the Confirm Deactivation window that opens, click Deactivate.        

    Note: To activate equipment types, click Filters, deselect Active and select Inactive, click Filter, then select the desired equipment type and click Activate.

Search and filter equipment types

  • Use the search field to find equipment types by name.

  • Click Filters to filter by status. After setting the filters, click ApplyFilters menu showing options for status selection and apply button in a software interface.
