Member savings not showing correctly on a printed invoice

What you're seeing

The member savings amount on a printed invoice isn't behaving the way you expect. Either the Membership Savings / Potential Savings line shows up when you want it hidden, or the member savings amount is missing when it should appear for a customer with an active membership. This can affect every invoice (a setting) or a single invoice (a customer, membership, or pricebook detail).

Why this happens

There are 3 common reasons.

Reason 1

The account-level savings setting controls whether the line prints at all.

The Show member savings on printed invoice setting is on (or off) at the account level, which determines whether the savings line prints on any invoice.

Reason 2

The discount isn't enabled on the customer, membership, or pricebook item.

For savings that should show but don't: the customer record, the membership, or the pricebook item isn't set up to allow the discount, so there's no savings amount to display.

Reason 3

The multiple-print-options setting can override the savings setting.

The Multiple Invoice/Estimate Print Options setting can override the member savings setting — when it's on, the savings line may still appear (or fail to toggle off) regardless of the savings setting.

Before you start

Note: You need access to Settings > Your Account > Feature Configurations to change account-level invoice settings. If you don't have it, contact your admin.

Caution: Changing the account-level setting affects every customer's invoices, not just one.

How to fix it

Run these checks in order. Most issues are resolved by Check 1.

1To stop the savings line from showing, turn off the account setting

Use this when you want to remove the Membership Savings and Potential Savings lines from all invoices without editing each customer.

  1. Go to Settings > Your Account > Feature Configurations.

  2. On the Feature Configuration screen, search for Show member savings on printed invoice and set the Enable toggle to off.

  3. If you don't have the Feature Configurations feature, contact Technical Support to disable this setting and remove the savings lines from all invoices.

✓ Done · The Membership Savings and Potential Savings lines no longer print on invoices. You're done.

2If the savings line still shows after Check 1, turn off Multiple Invoice/Estimate Print Options

Use this when savings still appear even though the setting in Check 1 is off — including Potential Savings appearing for non-members.

  1. In Feature Configurations, search for Multiple Invoice/Estimate Print Options and set it to off. This returns invoices to the standard print view, which reads the member savings setting.

  2. Reprint the invoice and confirm the savings line is gone.

  3. If savings still show, confirm the savings discount is also turned off on the membership type's discount page and on the customer/location record.

✓ Done · The savings line no longer prints. You're done.

3If the savings amount is missing when it should show, check the membership and pricebook setup

Use this when a customer with an active membership should see savings, but the amount isn't on the invoice.

  1. Search for and go to the customer's profile. Under the Customer Details panel, click the Edit icon on Additional Info and confirm Show Member Savings is selected.

  2. In the customer profile, click Memberships and confirm the customer had an active membership on both the invoice date and the job completion date.

  3. Search for and go to the invoice. Confirm the item has a Static Price and Static Member Price, and that Allow membership discounts is selected.

  4. Check the membership type and confirm the discount applies to the pricebook category or business unit for the item on the invoice.

  5. If the amount still isn't showing, remove the task from the invoice and add it back in, then check the invoice again.

✓ Done · The member savings amount appears on the printed invoice. You're done.
