# How can I set up default service item to automatically populate on invoices based on specific job types in ServiceTitan?

## Problem

Manual entry of line items for each invoice is time-consuming and prone to errors.

## Solution

Follow the steps below to solve the issue.

### Set up job types

1. Go to the top toolbar and click **Settings ![A simple icon representing a settings gear. ](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/icon-gnav-settings-inactive.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T01%3A47%3A22Z&se=2026-10-31T02%3A47%3A22Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=9mnsZxxXWu%2BZqiaXHd1sP1N2BzHPg0Ya6kLW2McYlto%3D)**.
2. In the side panel, click **Operations > Job Types**.
3. Select the job type you want to edit.
4. Click the **Default Services** tab.
5. Add the desired service items from your Pricebook.
6. Save your changes.
7. Book a new [job](/construction/docs/manage-and-book-jobs-in-a-project) using the updated job type.
8. Verify that the [default items](/construction/docs/set-up-default-services-for-job-types#how-default-services-work-on-the-invoice) appear on the invoice.
9. Add more items to the invoice if needed.
