They are especially helpful for businesses that perform the same type of visit across multiple agreements, regardless of the situation or customer. --- ### ****Who uses this feature**** - Administrators, accountants, estimators, project managers, and operations managers - Primarily benefits Commercial Service and Replacement, Commercial Construction, and Residential Service and Replacement business types - Applies to all trades ****Feature configuration**** - Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact [Technical Support](http://go.servicetitan.com/ask) for details. ## Things to know - When creating a service agreement, you can only select from active visit templates. - Edits to a visit template DO NOT impact agreements created in the past. Only new agreements created using the edited template contain the updates. - Visit templates can't be deleted, only deactivated. - A visit template can include more than one service. When a template with multiple services is added to an agreement, all of its services are added to the visit, with duration, labor, and price totaled across the services. - If your account is configured for it, you can set a minimum amount of time between two visit templates on the *Visit Template Relationships* tab. Every new agreement that uses both templates keeps the visits spaced apart. For more, see [Set up minimum spacing between visit templates](/construction/docs/clone-set-up-minimum-spacing-between-visit-templates). ## Use Case For example, a Commercial Lighting contractor can set up a visit template for "Night Drive Inspections" because all their agreements might include this service. By creating it as a *Visit Template*, your office employees no longer need to manually recreate that visit every time they create a service agreement. Instead, they can select from the visit template. Or, a pest control business can build a single *Quarterly Service* template that includes fertilization, pre-emergent, and post-emergent treatments. When that template is added to an agreement, all three services are added to one visit, so the office doesn't add each service by hand on every agreement. ## Create a visit template 1. When the visit template is added to an agreement, any covered equipment that matches the equipment types selected in the visit template will be pre-selected. > [!TIP] > **Tip:** Make sure to fill out as much detail for the visit as possible during this step. This information is pre-populated when booking the job, which saves you time and ensures the correct information is added to a job. This information is also available for the technician when viewing the job in the Technician Mobile App. We recommend turning on the following job booking settings [Attach Equipment to job](/construction/docs/set-up-ability-to-attach-equipment-to-a-job) and [Edit End Time](/construction/docs/configure-fields-on-the-job-booking-screen). 7. **(Optional) Task Summary:** Enter a summary of the tasks performed during the visit. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** The summary is automatically added to the **Job Summary** field when the visit is booked into a job. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2026-09-10 at 12.13.11 PM.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T02%3A27%3A47Z&se=2026-10-31T03%3A27%3A47Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=9iJvehmJ7jol1HroV%2B6m0%2BFOC5C21EEVf1ZUsHe3YYc%3D) 6. On the *Edit Visit Template - [Template name]* screen that opens, edit your content as needed. 6. When finished, click **Save**. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** Edits to a visit template do not impact agreements created in the past. Only new agreements created using the edited template contain the updates. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** If the template is part of a [minimum spacing relationship](/construction/docs/clone-set-up-minimum-spacing-between-visit-templates), ServiceTitan warns you when your edit affects that relationship. If a recurrence change makes the spacing equal to or longer than the template's recurrence interval, the relationship is deactivated when you save. Changes to the visit window or Start Date Offset show a warning only. A deactivated relationship stays inactive until you reactivate it. Agreements that already use the relationship keep it. ## Want to learn more? - Visit ServiceTitan Academy and enroll in [Creating & Managing Service Agreements](https://servicetitan.docebosaas.com/academy/learn/courses/242/Creating-&-Managing-Service-Agreements) - See [Add visit templates to service agreements](/construction/docs/use-visit-templates-with-service-agreements) - See [Service agreement management: Overview](/construction/docs/service-agreement-management-overview) - See [Manage service agreements visits](/construction/docs/manage-service-agreements-visits) The time range communicated to a customer for when a technician will arrive. **What it does:** Sets customer expectations proactively, reducing 'where's my tech?' calls and improving satisfaction scores. **Tags:** Core [See the full glossary →](https://help.servicetitan.com/docs/glossary-overview)
