# Creating a job to order parts without scheduling the appointment

## Problem

You want to order parts for a job but do not want to schedule the appointment right away.

## Solution

By following these steps, you can order parts for a job without having to schedule an appointment immediately.

## Creating a purchase order for parts

1. In the main navigation bar click **Inventory**.
2. In the left side menu, select **Purchase Orders**.
3. Click on **Create New**.
4. Fill in the required details for the parts you need to order, including vendor information.
5. Click on **Create** and select a create and send option.

## Creating a job without immediate scheduling

1. In the main navigation bar, click **Calls**.
2. Fill in the information to create a new job.
3. When you reach the scheduling part, choose an Arrival Window and day but do not assign a technician.
4. Click **Book Job**. The job will now appear on the Dispatch Board as an unassigned job.
5. When you are ready to schedule the job, click on **Dispatch** in the main navigation bar.
6. Find the unassigned job in the unassigned job tray.
7. Assign a technician and set the specific day, hour, and arrival time for the job.

The time range communicated to a customer for when a technician will arrive.

**What it does:** Sets customer expectations proactively, reducing 'where's my tech?' calls and improving satisfaction scores.
