# Change the default purchase order type from special order to standard

## Problem

The PO type defaults to *Special Order* when *Standard* is desired.

## Solution

To resolve this issue, you will need to go to the *PO Types* settings screen and set your PO type default to the correct one.

### Change the default purchase order type from special order to standard

Follow these steps to set the default PO type to *Standard*:

1. Go to *Settings* in ServiceTitan.
2. Select **Purchasing**.
3. Select **Purchase Order Types**.
4. Find *Standard* in the list and select **Edit** next to it.
5. Check the box for *Default* to make *Standard* the default PO type.
6. Save your changes.

Now, when you create a PO, the order type will automatically be set to *Standard* instead of *Special Order*.
