# Adding an extension to a user in Dialpad

## Problem

You want to implement Extensions within your Dialpad to make intercompany dialing easier, but you can't find out where Extensions can be set up within Dialpad.

## Solution

### Adding an extension to a user in Dialpad

1. 2. On the **Users** page, locate the user you wish to add the extension to. 3. An **Edit Extension** box will appear, where you will be prompted to enter an extension number, with a limit of 5 digits.
