# Add items and sub-items in ServiceTitan Mobile

## Overview

Add items and sub-items when building packages or increasing the scope of work without giving homeowners visibility into material prices or hourly rates.

## Things to know

- Sub-items are visible in ServiceTitan Mobile and from ServiceTitan but do *not* appear on customer-facing estimates and invoices and don't reveal their costs to customers.
- You can add sub-items by estimate templates in ServiceTitan and directly on estimates, but it can't be done on the office invoices specifically. For more, see [Create and use item groups](/construction/docs/create-and-use-item-groups-in-servicetitan-mobile).

## Add items to an invoice

> **Tip:** The job should be dispatched and arrived.

1. In **Dashboard > Overview**, find the job you want and tap **View Current Job**.
2. In the side menu, tap **Invoice**.
3. 4. Select the item you want.
5. 6. Tap **Done**.

## Add a material to an invoice

1. In **Dashboard > Overview**, find the job you want and tap **View Current Job**.
2. In the side menu, tap **Invoice**.
3. 4. Tap **Add materials now** if you don't have materials.
5. 6. > **Note:** If the materials are non-chargeable, you will see them in the Materials section. If the materials are chargeable, you will see them in the Items & Chargeable Materials section.

## Add a material to an estimate

1. In **Dashboard > Overview**, find the job you want and tap **View Current Job**.
2. In the side menu, tap **Estimate**.
3. 4. Tap **Add materials now** if you don't have materials or search for the material you want.
5. Tap **Add**.
6. 7. Tap **Done**.

> **Note:** If the materials are non-chargeable, you will see them in the Materials section. If the materials are chargeable, you will see them in the Items & Chargeable Materials section.

## Add a subitem to an invoice

1. In **Dashboard > Overview**, find the job you want and tap **View Current Job**.
2. In the side menu, tap **Invoice**.
3. Under *Items & Chargeable Materials*, tap the invoice item to which you want to add a subitem.
4. Tap **+ Sub-Item**.
5. Tap **+** on the item you want to add as a subitem, then tap **Done**.
6. Tap **Save**.

## View a subitem on an estimate

1. In **Dashboard > Overview**, find the job you want and tap **View Current Job**.
2. In the side menu, tap **Estimate** then tap the estimate you want to view.
3. Tap the item containing a subitem in the *Items & Chargeable Materials* section.
4. In the *Edit details* window, tap the sub-item you want to view under *Items & Chargeable Materials*.
5. Tap **Close**.
