No Venmo option when collecting a payment

What you're seeing

A customer wants to pay you with Venmo, but when you go to collect a payment, Venmo isn't listed as a payment method. There's no built-in Venmo option anywhere in the payment screen, and you need a way to record the money you received.

Why this happens

There is 1 common reason.

Reason 1

Venmo isn't a supported payment method in ServiceTitan.

ServiceTitan doesn't have a built-in way to process Venmo payments. Because Venmo isn't a supported payment method, it won't appear as an option on the payment screen. You can still record Venmo payments by creating your own custom payment type to track them.

Before you start

You need access to Settings and Accounting permissions to add or manage payment types. If you don't have it, contact your admin.

How to fix it

1Create a custom "Venmo" payment type and record the payment under it

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings.

  2. In the side panel, click Invoicing > Payment and Invoice Types.

  3. In the Payment Types section, click Add.

  4. Name the payment type Venmo.

  5. Set the Attribute option to None.

  6. Turn on Active, then click Save.

  7. When you collect a Venmo payment, select Venmo as the payment type and enter the payment as usual.

Note: Setting the Attribute to None is important — this payment type is a manual label for tracking, not a connected payment integration, so ServiceTitan won't try to process or settle the transaction.

✓ Done · "Venmo" now appears as a payment type, and the payment is recorded against the customer and invoice.

Still not working?

Contact ServiceTitan Technical Support at go.servicetitan.com/ask with:

  • The payment type name and a screenshot of its settings (including the Attribute field)

  • The customer name and invoice number you're trying to record the payment on

  • A description of what you see on the payment screen

  • Which steps from this article you already tried
