Overview
Custom Rule Financing works in two ways: 1) you can set a single default rule or 2) create multiple custom rules by setting details, spend thresholds, and more. Once you've added those, you can edit and manage rules as your business needs change.
Things to know
Please contact the ServiceTitan Financing team at financing@servicetitan.com before performing any of this setup. The ServiceTitan Financing team will assist you with entering these settings.
Before creating GreenSky® Custom Finance rules, you will need to sign up for GreenSky®. Learn more here: Get started with GreenSky® Custom Financing
Set up your GreenSky® accounts
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.In the side panel, click Integrations > Financing.
Under Providers, find GreenSky and click Configure.

To begin the GreenSky setup, click Get Started.

Set up default accounts - "Add a merchant ID to serve as the foundation for your default rule, which automatically applies to any Business Unit without a custom assignment." Enter a Merchant ID and a Name ("User facing name for merchant ID" - you can enter the same value as the Merchant ID if you don't want a custom label). Unlike Wells Fargo, there's no option to add more than one Merchant ID to this account. Click Next.

Set up accounts for specific business units (optional) - "Configure custom account groups for specific business units. If you add accounts, you must also create custom rules to activate the relationship, or the system will apply the default rule to those units." Select the business unit(s) (for example, Electrical - Service), then enter a Merchant ID and Name for this group. Click + Add Account for another business-unit group entirely (there's no "+ Add Merchant ID" option within a single group). Click Next, or Skip if you don't need business-unit-specific accounts.

Exclude business units from financing (optional) - "Financing options will never be displayed for excluded business units." Select any business units to exclude, then click Next, or Skip.

Review - Lists each account group and its Merchant ID. Click Save to finish.

Saving takes you to the GreenSky page - An Accounts section listing each group and its Merchant ID (for example, Default → 81009654; Electrical - Service → 81009655). If you need to change the information, you can update the account setup by clicking Edit.

Create a default rule
Under accounts, you’ll see the Rules section, this is where you will create the default rule and custom rules:
On the GreenSky page, in the Rules section, click Create Default Rule (or, once a rule exists, Add Rule to add another).

This opens the Create Default Rule wizard.
Under Select Rule Set Up, choose Use multiple spending tiers (Recommended) - Offer different plans for jobs with different proposal prices or Do not use spending tiers (Offer the same plans for all jobs, regardless of proposal price).

Under Select Plans - Add financing plans to spending tiers. For every eligible Job, customers will be offered the plans within the tier that corresponds with the cost of their job Estimate - with Expand All / Collapse All links. A Tier 1 card starts with a prefilled Total Spend range (for example, $0 to $4,000):
Click + Add Plans to add plans to it manually.

Click + Add Tier to add more tiers.

If you'd rather have GreenSky recommend plans and tiers for you, click ✨ Try the Plan Optimizer (top right of the Select Plans section) instead of building manually. This switches you into the Plan Optimizer flow: choose a Strategy (Conservative, Balanced [Recommended], or Aggressive), then review the recommended tiers, each showing Total Spend, Average Dealer Fee, Customer's Monthly Price, and a plan count.

Click Save (tier-level) as you go, and Save again at the bottom once you're done, to finish creating the rule. You can view your default rule in the GreenSky page's Rules section.

Note: To ensure that there is at least one financing plan available for your technicians to show customers, you can't delete a default rule entirely. If you want to hide financing from a specific business unit, exclude that business unit when setting up your accounts instead.
Edit a default rule
On the GreenSky page, in the Rules section, click the Default Rule's name (a clickable link) to open it.

Edit the rule's tiers and plans as needed:
To edit a tier, click the drop-down on the right > Edit Tier.
Click the edit pencil next to your strategy to change the financing strategy.
Start from scratch for manual control, the same as when creating a rule.

When you're done, click Save Rule.
Create custom rules
You can create your own custom rules for your technicians to use in the field. Unlike some other providers, GreenSky's rule wizard asks you to select business units directly in the Set Details step, rather than only inheriting them from the account.
On the GreenSky page, in the Rules section, click Add Rule (or the Add button next to an account under "Quick-start rules for your accounts"). This opens the Create Financing Rule wizard.

Set Details - Enter a Rule Name and select the Business Units this rule applies to. Click Next.'

Strategy - "The Plan Optimizer uses your strategy selection to tailor plans to your preferences and business goals." Choose Conservative, Balanced (Recommended), or Aggressive.

An Expected Results chart shows relative Dealer Fees, Profit Margin, Conversion Rate, and Average Ticket Size for the selected strategy.
Click Next.
Select Plans shows the Plan Optimizer results directly - Recommended tiers with Total Spend, Average Dealer Fee, Customer's Monthly Price, and a plan count, with a "start from scratch" link if you'd rather build tiers and select plans manually instead:

Your Strategy
Your chosen strategy is shown (Your Strategy: Balanced, for example) with a pencil icon to change it, a "Why these plans?" link, and a "start from scratch" link if you'd rather build tiers and select plans manually instead.
Tiers
Use Expand All / Collapse All or click a tier to view/edit it.
Each tier is collapsed by default, showing Total Spend (e.g. $0 to $12,999), Average Dealer Fee (e.g. 9.25%), Customer's Monthly Price range (e.g. $0.00 to $285.98/month), and a Plans count (e.g. "2 plans selected"). Click the chevron on a tier (or Expand All) to open it.
Inside an expanded tier, under Plans ("The primary plan is used to calculate monthly costs when presenting estimates to customers."):
A table lists each selected plan with columns Plan, Description, APR, and Contractor Fee (for example: Plan 2786, marked Primary, "Fixed Rate Plan 2786. 9.99% APR for 96 months." - 9.99% APR, 12% Contractor Fee; Plan 1069, "Mixed Rate Plan 1069. 8.94% APR based on 0% interest rate for 6 months with no Payments required during the Promo Period; then 120 monthly payments based on 9.99% interest rate." - 9.99% APR, 6.5% Contractor Fee).
Click Edit Tier to change the tier's spend range or which plans are included.
Click + Add Tier for another.
Then review or edit the Plan Optimizer's recommended tiers (or start from scratch to build manually).
Click Save Rule once you've finished. You can view your rule in the GreenSky page's Rules section.
Edit a custom rule
On the GreenSky page, in the Rules section, click the custom rule's name (a clickable link) to open it.
Edit the rule's name, business units, strategy, or tiers/plans as needed.
When you're done, click Save Rule.
