Overview

When you enable customer notifications, the phone number and name associated with your business units will be shown to your customers.

Set up a business unit

Ensure your business units are set up for customer notifications with the correct phone number(s) and official names.

Unless you have different advertised numbers for different business units, enter the main company phone number for all business units.

If there is no official name entered for a business unit, the business unit name will be used for notifications. Update the official name of the business unit so that your internal names for business units are not seen by your customers.

Input fields for Name and Official Name with information icons for guidance.

For example, if one of your business units is Electrical, enter Your Company Name Company Electrical as the official name of the business unit to avoid customer confusion.


FAQ

Why do I need to enter business unit phone numbers?

The business unit phone number is provided in reminder notification and dispatch notification messages, so the customer will know how to reach you if they have any questions. Therefore, you must enter business unit phone numbers before you enable these notifications. To enter business unit phone numbers:

  1. Go to Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear. > Business Units.

  2. Click the Pencil icon next to a business unit.

  3. Enter the phone number in the Phone field.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Once all business unit phone numbers have been entered, go back to Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear. > Customer Notifications to enable notifications.
