What you're seeing
On a project, the balance to finish still shows a value, even though the line item shows the work is 100% completed. The two numbers don't seem to match, which makes it look like the project isn't fully billed.
Why this happens
There is 1 common reason.
Reason 1
The line item's amount isn't evenly divisible by its unit price, leaving a rounding difference.
The item can reach 100% complete in quantity while a small price difference remains due to rounding, which leaves a balance to finish. When this happens, ServiceTitan flags the affected row with a warning icon and shows the remaining amount in the Balance to Finish column. This appears only when you view the Continuation Sheet in Price (USD) view.
How to fix it
1Resolve the rounding difference on the Continuation Sheet
Use this if a row shows 100% completion but still carries a balance to finish.
Open the project, then open the Application for Payment and its Continuation Sheet.
Click the Price (USD) tab.
Look for rows with a warning icon and a small amount in the Balance to Finish column. (Hover over the warning icon to see which items in the group are affected.)
Click Edit on the affected row to open the Description of Work Items.
Enable the Edit by Price toggle.
For each affected item, click Adjust Price. The item total adjusts to 100% in price, resolving the rounding difference.
Click Save.
✓ Done · The line item is at 100% in both quantity and price, the balance to finish is cleared, and the generated invoice matches the Application for Payment.
